Volition Gallery at Bell-ans Center for the Arts Appoints New Gallery Director, Hosts Open Studios, Saturday, September 15

Orangeburg, NY – Volition gallery appointed Sona Viola as their new director. Viola will join forces Bell-ans Center of the Arts, owner & founder Phyllis Dodge to co-create with artists, guest curators, for exhibitions, events and productions at the gallery.

Sona Viola has over 15 years experience in corporate marketing and event planing along with her continuing entrepreneurial skills as a professional photographer and artist. Most recently, she curated Uprising, Art of the Subculture, a show that attracted submissions from around the globe.

“We are excited for the future and look forward to bringing new creative opportunities for fresh, innovative exhibits & events to the Hudson Valley! Please join us in congratulating Sona and welcoming her as Gallery Director.” said Bell-ans creative director and owner.

On Saturday, September 15th from 2pm to 6pm, Bell-ans will host their annual Open House.

All day shuttle buses will move visitors over the mountain and through the woods from the Great Nyack Get Together.

There will also be a closing reception for Volition Gallery’s Uprising: The Art of Subculture, a celebration of the bold, edgy and provocative. The exhibit features the work of over 40 artists of various media from around the globe curated by Sona Viola.

Participating artists are from Italy, Canada, Atlanta, Maryland, NYC, Connecticut, Brooklyn, and local community artists including Bill Batson, Jeffrey Bisaillon, Marisol Diaz, Dana Fournier, Dan Lukens, Gunnar Magnus.
