Summer Concerts Under the Stars at Historic Untermyer Park every Saturday Through September 1st
(Yonkers, NY) — Empire City Casino, the largest entertainment destination in the northeast, returns as a sponsor of the annual Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s summer concert series. The theme for 2018, World Fest, accurately encompasses the different cultures of the more than eight-million visitors the casino welcomes every year, making it the perfect partnership. Now in its 43rd year of free and quality entertainment, the Untermyer Performing Arts Council’s passionate commitment to the arts and service to the people of Yonkers aligns with Empire City’s dedication to supporting outstanding community programs for the arts.
“Empire City Casino at Yonkers Raceway has been an integral member of our surrounding communities for nearly half a century and remains committed to supporting our neighbors,” stated Empire City Casino Director of Public Affairs, Taryn Duffy. “The Untermeyer Performing Arts Center provides wonderful, free, family-friendly entertainment throughout the summer for all to enjoy, and we are honored to return as a sponsor of this year’s concert series.”
The concerts are free and open to the public every Saturday night through September 1st at the beautiful and historic Untermyer Park located at 945 North Broadway in Yonkers. Among the programs scheduled for this summer are such diverse performances as the the Thalia Spanish Theatre (August 4), the New York Chinese Cultural Center (August 11), and the Culture and Traditions of India (August 25).
Doors open at 7:30 p.m.; attendees may bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the performances comfortably.
