The Black Bull Steakhouse, the county’s newest upscale eatery, is bringing the atmosphere and flavor of a New York City restaurant right here to Rockland.
Opened in early 2018, Black Bull Steakhouse serves not just expertly prepared steaks, but also homemade pastas, fresh seafood, and top shelf wine. Founded by veteran chef Thomas Pogorziskr, the Black Bull is the culmination of decades of experience in the restaurant business as both Thomas and his staff pool their collective expertise to create a fantastic fine dining experience
Chef Pogorziskr has honed his skills for over 30 years, having worked in many eateries including the celebrated Peter Luger Steak House, one of the most famous restaurants in NYC. Pogorziskr has partnered with a master provider based in Bronx, New York City that supplies Black Bull with fresh, top quality cuts of meat daily. Those steaks are then aged in house for almost a month before being served, guarantying the meat is a tender and flavorful as possible before being prepared. The restaurant is staffed by friendly and competent waiters all of whom have spent time working in fine Italian style NYC restaurants.
Black Bull’s menu is diverse and delicious. The restaurants signature dish are their masterfully prepared steaks, which include Porter House, Bacon Wrapped, and bone in Filet Mignon. They also offer Italian favorites such as homemade lobster ravioli and pasta in a bolognaise sauce, and sea food, such as Branzino and Scallops.
Black Bull is open all week and serves three course lunch and dinner specials. The restaurant has a half price happy hour Monday through Friday and a BYOB option on Mondays and Tuesdays. The Black Bear Steak House is located at 253 South Little Tor Road in New City, NY and has something to offer just about everyone.
