Raucous storms expected this evening

The Weather Channel reports an 80 percent chance of strong thunderstorms this evening peaking between 6 and 8 p.m. Forecaster warn of the possibility of damaging winds and large hail with some storms.

O&R has declared a storm watch, anticipating the storms have the potential to cause tree, utility pole and power line damage, and, as a result, widespread electric service interruptions.

O&R urges the public to put safety first if confronted by any weather-related electric system damage and advises the public to stay away from downed wires and transformers, and to take other safety precautions as needed.
