Fieldstone Student takes First Prize in North Rockland Lions Club “Peace Poster Contest”

The North Rockland Lions Club recognized Tiffany Acosta as the Club’s 2017-2018 “Peace Poster” contest winner.  Tiffany is a seventh grade student at Fieldstone Middle School in Thiells. Tiffany received a $100 check, a Certificate of Achievement, and a trophy for her winning entry.

Second place winner, Annalisa Olsen of Stony Point and third place winner  Steven Minchala of Garnerville were also honored with their  families. Each received a check, a Certificate and a trophy recognizing this accomplishment.

Lion Charlie Jenks and the Peace Poster Chair Lion Roswitha Wallburg congratulated the students and presented the Awards. The theme of the 2017-2018 contest was: “The Future of Peace.”

Art Teacher Tania Riccoboni thanked the Lions Club for its continued support of the Peace Poster program at the school. Peace Poster Chair Roswitha Wallburg announced that the North Rockland Lions Club will again be sponsoring the event for the 2018-2019 student contest and the theme will be “Kindness Matters.” 

For the last 31 years, more than 4 million children from nearly 100 countries have participated in the Peace Poster Contest.
