Suffern Police Department responds to a report of domestic violence

The Suffern Police Department responded to a report of domestic violence this week on Highland Ave.

Upon arrival, the officers located the woman who reported the call and found that her husband had allegedly choked her close to unconsciousness during a dispute.

Police say, the victim claimed that she had locked her herself and her two young children inside her bedroom for their safety following this incident.

After investigation, the 32-year old suspect was placed under arrest for Criminal Obstruction of Breathing and taken to police Headquarters where he was arraigned and sent to the Rockland County Jail.
