Tentative Agreement Reached Between Rockland County and Corrections Officers

Rockland County Executive Ed Day announced today that the county and Corrections Officers Benevolent Association of Rockland County have reached a tentative agreement pending ratification and final approvals. The Memorandum of Understanding covers the years 2011-2020. The proposed contract terms are fair and in the best interest of the employees as well as the County.

“Corrections officers have arguably the toughest job in law enforcement,” said Day, a former law enforcement executive. “We thank the members of this union for the work they do and for their patience and good faith during these negotiations.”

There are approximately 145 members in COBARC. The proposed agreement requires ratification by membership and approval of both the County Executive and the Rockland County Legislature. No additional details will be released until ratification.
