Announcement from Clarkstown Police Dept.

It is with great sadness that Chief Raymond McCullagh announced the passing of Detective Frederick J. Parent on Tuesday. The 52-year-old Detective from New City passed away last night after a brief illness. Freddy Parent began his career with the Clarkstown Police Department in July of 1991 as a dispatcher. On July 29, 1996 Freddy was sworn in as a police officer with the Clarkstown Police Department and he was issued badge #115. In May of 2005 he was promoted to Detective in the Juvenile Aid Bureau. As a detective he became an expert in solving fraud and credit card crimes.
Freddy was a lifelong member of the Nanuet Volunteer Fire Department. He joined in 1990 and rose through the ranks, serving as Chief (8-1) in 2000. Freddy was instrumental in molding the direction of the department by serving on the Board of Commissioners from 2008-2010. Some of his noticeable accomplishments was serving upstate in Moorestown for the Ice Storms of 1998 and assisting in the acquisition of the Fire Prevention Trailer.
