Best Festivals & Events Coming October 2017

With all of the Fall Festivals coming in October, you’ll need to prioritize which ones are a must-see.

Let’s take a look at some of the highlights…

MEGASTACK

The USA’s first ever MEGASTACK event will take place from October 6-8, 2017 at the Garden State and Resorts Casino Hotel. You may be asking, what is MEGASTACK? It’s a series of casino gaming tournaments that are brought to exciting live venues around Europe — and now the USA. Each event will guarantee professional PokerStars Championship-like structures, but at a much, much lower cost. For this one being held in NJ, the buy in is only $220, with a guarantee of $100,000. These events are fun because they give you a massive starting stack, allowing you more time at the tables. If you aren’t able to attend the event, you can also play at your leisure online from home. Though this isn’t your typical Fall Festival, it is a worthwhile fall event for those who are interested in such entertainment.

Tugboat Roundup Festival – Near Albany

Located in Waterford, NY on Sept 8-10th, this is a FREE event that anyone of all ages can enjoy. It will include tugboat demonstrations and rides, face painting, food, crafts, puppet shows, pony rides and even fireworks on Saturday night.

Saratoga Wine & Food Festival – Near Albany

This event is a must for those who enjoy gourmet foods and wines. It is a 3-day event, also Sept 8th – 10th. It will include the showcasing of international wines, innovative chef-prepared menus, cooking demonstrations, tastings, auctions, wine seminars and even a concours d’elegance of luxury cars. This event is ideal for adults and those with a taste for finer things, in a more low-key setting. Wine & Food Festivals are all the rage right now.

Montauk Fall Festival – Long Island

Located in Montauk, NY on Oct 7th and 8th, this festival includes live music, Long Island Beers, a free carousel, food, contests and much more — all for a really good time.

Taste of the Catskills – Long Island

Located specifically in Delhi, NY, this event showcases the food, beer and wine from the region. It is an event perfect for all ages, so you can bring your entire clan. There will be activities for both big and small. Some of the activities include cooking workshops, live entertainment, Catskill Puppets, Celebrity-hosted events and Farm Olympics. Also, a neat feature is it ends with a true Harvest Dinner and Bonfire.

Ithaca Apple Harvest Festival – Syracuse

This great event is a 3-day celebration for those of all ages. It includes lots of food, fun entertainment and activities. Of course, it also includes apples, as it has for the last 30+ years. It takes place in Ithaca, NY on Sept 29th – Oct 1st.
