The Brick Alley Block Party will be held at Garner Arts Center to celebrate the opening of Garner’s 2017-18 season and the one-year anniversary of the on-site craft brewery Industrial Arts Brewing Company held on September 23. The block party is an after-hours event filled with immersive art, food trucks, a milk and cookie cart and craft beverage bars that culminates in a sundown DJ set with Max Sprauer in a 19th Century Brick Alleyway. There will be a funk steel drum band, painted women, silk installations, dances, art exhibitions, light sculptures and more, including the world premiere of Mechanica, an exploration of Garner Arts Center. Artists appearing include Reid Stowe, Molly Joyce, Leo Casteneda, the Chapman Brothers, Hudson Valley Ballet Company, Jamie Gaviola, Jamie Kimak and Adam Garey.
