Golf and tennis enthusiasts are invited to “play for a purpose” at the 28th Annual Good Samaritan Hospital and Sterling National Bank Golf and Tennis Classic. The classic is at the Tuxedo Club in Tuxedo Park, NY on Monday, September 11. All proceeds from the event will benefit Good Samaritan Hospital.

Along with an 18-hole golf shamble and round robin tennis tournament, the day features a cocktail hour, dinner reception and a high-end auction. The Good Samaritan and Sterling National Bank Golf and Tennis Classic is among a select group of tournaments whose winners are invited to participate in the prestigious Mercedes-Benz Dealer Challenge. The 2016 top winners, David Ober, M.D., and Gerald Tobias, enjoyed an all-expense paid trip to play in the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Championships in Pinehurst, NC.

“Playing in the Championship is a once in a lifetime thrill,” said Dr. Ober. “Knowing that it happened for me as a result of supporting the hospital makes it all the more special.”

The event is open to the community. Reservations are required, and a wide variety of sponsorship opportunities are available.

The Golf and Tennis Classic is a key annual fund raising event for Good Samaritan Hospital. Past classics have helped fund the construction of the new Emergency Department and the renovation of patient rooms.

“Funds raised at this event enhance the healthcare programs and services our patients receive,” said Harold J. Peterson, chair of the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation. “The classic, our annual signature golf and tennis fundraiser, helps advance local access to state-of-the-art care while bringing our supporters together for a day of fun.
