ROCKLAND POOL AND GOLF WEAPONS MELEE

Dozens of state and local police cars responded a large fight at Rockland Lake on Saturday afternoon.

A large crowd of people of about 20-30 began fighting outside the pool house near the park entrance. A weapon, alleged to be a machete, was reported to be at scene. Police immediately responded and NYS Emergency Incidents reported one arrest made during early police response. A foot pursuit into the Rockland County Golf Course commenced.

State Police blocked entrance to the park and detained a number of individuals in connection with the incident. Police did not release any more information on arrests. Authorities finished park investigation just before the 7 p.m. closing of public pool house hour.
