200 show up for protest of cell phone shop in Monsey

Ramapo PD reported early Friday afternoon that approximately 200 protesters gathered to voice their displeasure at the sale of smart phones at Ping Verizon 59 on Route 59 in Monsey.  Police said the protest was reportedly due to religious beliefs against smart phone use.

Police said that at 1:30 p.m. the protesters peacefully dispersed. There were no incidents reported at the protest.
