WEATHER THIS WEEK: August 4 – 10

Your weekly forecast by Zachary Jacomowitz

Hello Rockland County! I hope that you have had a nice week. Can you believe it’s already August? The summer always seems to fly by. Anyway, it’s time to take a look at the forecast as we head into the final month of Meteorological Summer.

On Friday, we can expect somewhat unsettled weather. Some showers and storms will be possible. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will climb into the low 80s. The unsettled weather will continue into Saturday as a cold front approaches the area. Highs will reach the low 80s once again, similar to Friday. The humidity will at first rise, but then drop as the front passes through.

Following the front, we can expect a refreshing Sunday, with ample sunshine and highs near 80°. This will be a nice recovery from a potentially cool morning as lows drop into the 50s. For the start of the new workweek on Monday, an area of low pressure will approach us from the west. This will allow for cloudy skies and showers on Monday, and it will also be cool. Highs look to be stuck in the low to mid-70s. We look to dry out for Tuesday, but showers may still be west of us. With that said, expect mostly cloudy skies, but highs will be able to climb back to near 80°.

As another area of low pressure moves to our north, a few showers will be in the forecast for Wednesday and even into Thursday. Expect high temperatures to be in the upper 70s to low 80s both on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope that your July was great and that your August will be even better!
