The laughfest continues at Empire City Casino as funny man Dante Nero gets ready to take to the mic at Comedy Night on Wednesday, July 12. Drawing from his many life experiences in a wide array of fields, including competing as a fencer in college at SUNY New Paltz and his work as a bouncer and former exotic dancer, Nero is sure to have the crowd in hysterics as he is joined on-stage by featured performer, Sarah Tollemache, and MC, Jeremy Adams. The night of laughs kicks off at 8 p.m. in the casino’s Good Time Room.
The Brooklyn-born and bred comic, Nero, has performed at all of the legendary New York comedy spots, including the Comedy Cellar, Stand Up NY, Comic Strip Live, Gotham Comedy Club, and Caroline’s on Broadway. Having been in stand-up since 2001, Nero quickly made a name for himself, working with such established comics like Tracy Morgan and Mike Epps. He has co-hosted “The Black Phillip Show with Patrice O’Neal,” a relationship advice show on Sirius XM Radio, while also appearing on the Opie & Anthony Channel, HOT 97, and “Chappelle’s Show.” An accomplished actor, Nero has had roles on “Z Rock” on IFC, “Damages” on FX, the popular series “Fringe” on FOX, and the NBC crime drama, “The Blacklist.”
Sarah Tollemache launched her career in comedy in Houston, TX a decade ago. After being featured on consecutive seasons of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” she took her talents to New York City, and has been named one of the “Top 20 Female Comics to Follow on Twitter” by the Huffington Post. In addition to performing in New York’s top comedy clubs, Tollemache can be seen regularly at the Upright Citizen Brigade Theater, performing with her sketch group, “Absolutely.”
Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show will begin at 8 p.m. Tickets are sold at the door the night of the show. Admission is $5 for Empire Club Members and $25 for non-members. Elite Club and President’s Club members gain free admission. All patrons will receive a complimentary drink ticket.
