EAGLE SCOUT PROJECT WILL SEE INSTALLATION OF FLAG RECEPTACLES IN HAVERSTRAW

Andrew Kolesar, a freshman at North Rockland High School and member of Boy Scout Troop 61, is pursuing an Eagle Scout ranking. His Eagle Scout project is to install flag receptacles at the Haverstraw Town Hall, Town of Haverstraw Police Department and at Bowline Point Park. The purpose of these receptacles is to give his fellow citizens a place to drop off any old and/or damaged flags so that they can be properly retired.

Andrew currently holds the rank of Life Scout and is working towards becoming an Eagle Scout. He will be explaining his project concept and presenting a completed receptacle to the Haverstraw Town Supervisor Howard Phillips and Council Members at the next Town Board meeting on Monday, June 12 at 8 p.m. at Haverstraw Town Hall, One Rosman Road, Garnerville. Kolesar is the son of heroic firefighter Andrew Kolesar, who saved his captain Kenneth Patterson from doom after Patterson collapsed inside a home in West Haverstraw that had numerous fire code violations.
