Nyack Hospital Receives Grant for New Emergency Dept. Digital X-ray Suites

Nyack Hospital has received a $300,000 grant for two digital X-ray suites which will be located in the new Emergency Department (ED) as part of the Hospital’s Transformation Project.  The funding is being provided by New NY Bridge Community Benefits Program.

“As home to one of the most active Emergency Departments in the lower Hudson Valley, Nyack Hospital provides emergency care to nearly 60,000 individuals a year,” said Nyack Hospital President & CEO, Mark Geller, MD.  “Once complete, our new Emergency Department will be more than double in size, offering a multitude of amenities in emergency care medicine.  We are very thankful for the support from New NY Bridge as the two new digital X-ray suites further strengthen our ability to meet the emergency medicine needs of our community.”

The Transformation Project at Nyack Hospital will increase the size of the Emergency Department to 26,000 square feet, offering a separate fast/track urgent care center, new rapid assessment area, private behavioral health assessment unit, larger trauma treatment bays, dedicated imaging suite with a CT scanner and an integrated decontamination room.  The addition of an adjacent Urgent Care Center will assist with providing patients with non-emergent conditions a more appropriate level of ambulatory care and access to primary care providers, reducing unnecessary visits to the Emergency Department.
