Senator Carlucci Selects Diane Serratore of People to People as NYS Senate Woman of Distinction

PRESS RELEASE

Senator David Carlucci (D-Rockland/Westchester) honored Diane Serratore, executive director of People to People Food Pantry as a 2017 Woman of Distinction.

Serratore will be in Albany for an event with honorees from each of the Senate’s 63 districts. People to People is Rockland County’s largest food pantry working to help struggling Rocklanders through difficult times.

People to People does more than provide food for the needy.  They collect and donate clothing to help men, women and children of all ages and maintain a collection of professional outfits for job seekers. Each year People to People also helps give kids a foundation for educational success by equipping kids with the essential items on “required school supplies” lists at the start of each year.

“Diane Serratore is a role model for everyone in the community and I am thankful for the opportunity to bring together inspirational women from around the State. There are thousands of people who have benefited from Diane’s exceptional work and each one motivates her to help thousands more.  Rockland County is lucky to have Diane and her team at People to People. She is clearly a woman of distinction whose work deserves to shine,” stated Senator Carlucci.

“It is truly an honor to be included as a Woman of Distinction along with so many other impressive women throughout the state,” Serratore said. “This has been a tremendous networking experience for me and it has opened my eyes to the many issues that communities throughout New York are facing. I wish all of the other problem solving women of distinction success in their efforts. The achievements of People to People over the years would not be possible without the support of community leaders like Senator Carlucci. I am truly humbled that he has chosen me to represent his district with this honor.”
