FIELDSTONE STUDENT TAKES FIRST PRIZE IN NORTH ROCKLAND LIONS CLUB “PEACE POSTER CONTEST”

At their most recent meeting, the North Rockland Lions Club recognized Daniella Masucci of Stony Point as the club’s 2016-2017“ Peace Poster” contest winner. Daniella is a seventh grade student at Fieldstone Middle School in Thiells. Daniella received a check for $100 dollars, a Certificate of Achievement and a trophy for her first place win.

The second place winner was Daniel Carron of Garnerville and the third place winner was Emily Fisher of Stony Point. The students were also joined by their families. Each received a check, a Certificate of Achievement and a trophy recognizing their accomplishments. Lion Charlie Jenks and the Peace Poster Chair Lion Roswitha Wallburg congratulated the students and presented the awards. The theme of the 2016-2017 contest was “A Celebration of Peace.”

Ms. Karen Baumann, the art director from North Rockland High School thanked the club for its continued support of the Peace Poster program in our community. The Lions thanked Ms. Baumann and Ms. Tania M. Riccoboni, the Art Teacher from Fieldstone Middle School, for their assistance and continued promotion of the arts with our youth.

Peace Poster Chair Roswitha Wallburg announced that the North Rockland Lions Club will again sponsor the contest in 2017-2018. For over 25 years, more than 4 million children from nearly 100 countries have participated in this contest that focuses on peace in our world.
