DWI Arrest in Blauvelt

Orangetown Police arrested a 47 year old man from Campbell Hall, NY, Sean J. Sullivan for driving while intoxicated.

Officers responded to Coolidge Street and Blauvelt Road on a call of a man standing next to his disabled vehicle. Officers noticed Sullivan’s bloodshot eyes and the odor of alcohol on his breath upon interviewing him. He failed numerous sobriety tests and was transported to headquarters. He refused to take a breathalyzer.

Mr. Sullivan will appear in the Orangetown Justice Court on January 11th at 6 pm.

Ramapo

Spring Valley Man Arrested for Stealing Vehicle

Early December 7th, the Ramapo Police Department received a call of a suspect entering vehicles on Green Hill Lane in the Village of New Hempstead. The officers arrived at the scene but the suspect had already fled.

Police quickly found the suspect who was a 39 year old man from Spring Valley and found out that he had 16 active suspensions on his license. He also did not have permission from the owner to operate this vehicle.

It was later discovered that this vehicle was reported stolen. The man was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, criminal possession of stolen property and attempted larceny.

Domestic Dispute in Hillcrest

On Sunday afternoon, the Ramapo Police received a call reporting a domestic disturbance in a home in Hillcrest. The caller stated that the female was being held in her boyfriend’s home against her will. Police arrived and investigated the scene.

Officers arrested the 35 year old Hillcrest resident and charged him with criminal contempt, criminal mischief and unlawful imprisonment. He is pending a court date in the Ramapo Justice Court. There were no injuries to either party.

Stabbing in New Hempstead

Ramapo Police responded to a New Hempstead residence after receiving numerous 911 calls. Police were met by a tenant who explained he was locked out of his home by a landlord who physically struck him during an argument. The landlord stated he was only checking in because he heard an argument going on between him and his girlfriend. After checking in on them again, the tenant pulled a knife on the landlord and threatened to stab him. The landlord then blocked a slash attempt, causing an injury to the hand. The 32 year old tenant was arrested for felony assault, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.

RPD Looking for DWAI Suspect

Screen Shot 2016-12-15 at 9.21.23 AM           The Ramapo Police Department is looking for Nicola Mancino. He is currently wanted for driving while ability impaired. These charges are from an incident that occurred in Sloatsburg in 2014. Mancino is 46 years old, stand 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed about 180 pounds at the time. Clarkstown

Larceny Fugitive Wanted by CPD

The Clarkstown Police are still looking for Rachel Katz. She is a white, 30 year old female with brown hair and blue eyes. She is about 5’9 and her last known address was in Nyack. She is wanted for larceny and possession of a stolen property. If you have any information or whereabouts, please call the CPD at (845) 639-5880.

Suffern

Seven Teens Caught with Marijuana this Week

On Thursday, Suffern Police arrested two 18 year olds, one from Suffern and one from Airmont for unlawful possession of marijuana.

An officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Riverside Drive for a traffic violation and found that the two were in possession of marijuana.

Then on Friday afternoon, police arrested two more teenagers for unlawful possession of marijuana.

The officer stopped the 17 year old from Airmont and 16 year old from Montebello driving a vehicle. Upon searching the car, the officer found the illegal substance.

Three more teens were arrested over the past few days in two separate incidents. In one incident, officers responded to Somerset Drive and located two teens, one 19 years old from Montebello and the other 18 from Airmont exiting a vehicle. Upon investigation, they were found with marijuana.

In the second incident, officers received a report of people acting suspiciously in a Parkside Drive parking lot. Responding officers arrested a 17 year old from Hackensack, NJ for being under the possession of marijuana. All seven teens are currently pending a future court date.
