3 NYC MEN ARRESTED FOR ROBBERY & BURGLARY FROM HOME INVASION

Screen Shot 2016-12-05 at 10.58.40 AMThe Clarkstown Police Department arrested three men from New York City for robbery and burglary stemming from a home invasion robbery that occurred on Newport Dr. in Nanuet. There were no injuries to the residents who were home during the robbery. Patrol units were able to apprehend the suspects driving away from the scene attempting to enter the New York State Thruway.

On November 30, 2016 at approximately 8:30 p.m., the Clarkstown Police Department responded the Newport Dr. for a report of multiple gunmen entered an occupied home and displayed handguns. Responding patrol units interviewed the 49 year old victim who stated that he went out into his garage to retrieve something when he observed two male black suspects point guns at him and demanded money and jewelry. The victim gave the suspects an unknown amount of cash and they fled the home on foot to a waiting vehicle. The vehicle was stopped on the New York State Thruway and the suspects were taken into custody without incident. After a search of the area a loaded 9mm and a loaded 40 cal. pistol were recovered. The suspects were transported to police headquarters for processing. The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

The three suspects were identified as follows: Kyle Johnson, 30, of Bronx, NY, Jamon Sutton, 33 of Bronx, NY and James Capeles, 26, of Brooklyn, NY. They were all transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with burglary in the first degree (felony), robbery in the first degree (felony) and criminal possession of stolen property in the third degree (felony). They were arraigned on December 1.
