Village of Suffern Veterans Day Parade Next Friday

Mayor Ed Markunas and the Village of Suffern will be hosting The Fromm – Maxwell-DeBaun American Legion Post #859 at the Annual Veteran’s Day Ceremony on Friday, November 11. The parade will line up 10:30 a.m. at Suffern Village Hall, 61 Washington Avenue and march to the Soldier’s Monument where the 11 a.m. ceremony begins.

Rockland County Executive Ed Day will be at the ceremony where he will announce new programs for veterans, including a new Vets card in the style of PBA cards, which vets can use to identify their service to the country.

The county is reminding veterans that they are eligible for discounts at certain merchants through the FAVOR program. In addition, the county is working with towns that restrict park use to residents to allow veterans use of the facilities.

The ceremony will include supervisors from Rockland’s five towns and Jerry Donnellan, director of Rockland’s Veterans Service Agency.

Following the ceremony, the public is invited to Fromm-Maxwell-DeBaun American Legion Post #859, located at 17 Pavilion Road, Suffern, where refreshments will be served.
