“The Canterbury Tales” begins run this weekend at North Rockland High School

This weekend North Rockland High School’s Drama Society is will present the comedy “The Canterbury Tales” by Craig Sodaro as an adaptation of Geoffrey Chaucer’s poem of the same name.

“The Canterbury Tales” tells the story of travelers who are halted when a bridge they must cross has broken. While trapped on the other side of the bridge with no way home, they take refuge in an Inn and begin to share their stories. As the travelers begin to tell their tales, the players come alive and act out the scenes. The lively characters bring to life these legends of mischief, greed, deception, and love in a two act adven-ture in medieval England. The play is characterized by its animated humor and lifelong morals and themes.

The production of “The Canterbury Tales” will take place at North Rockland High School, located at 106 Hammond Road, Thiells New York, November 4, 5, 10, and 12. Shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will run for approximately two hours. Ticket prices are $12 for students and seniors and $15 for adults. November 10 is “2 for 1” student ticket night.
