Jersey Woman Charged with DWI in Pearl River

Screen Shot 2016-09-28 at 1.10.47 PMStacey Solazzo, a 51-year old woman from Washington Township, New Jersey was arrested by the Orangetown Police Department Monday afternoon with a DWI.

Orangetown Police received a call of a female who fell asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle that was stopped in a traffic lane on Route 304 in Pearl River. Officers observed that Solazzo’s eyes were bloodshot, her speech was slurred and the vehicle smelt of alcohol. Not only did Solazzo fail the breathalyzer and other sobriety tests, it was also found out that Solazzo had her license to drive in the state of New York revoked.

Solazzo will be arrested for the following charges: driving while intoxicated aggravated driving while intoxicated and aggravated unlicensed operation in the first degree; all in which are felonies. Her bail amount is $2,500 and is due back in court on a later date.

 

Domestic Arrest in Orangeburg

Vladamir Vismer, a 32-year old male from New York, New York was arrested Sunday for a domestic dispute inside a vehicle on Lester Drive in Orangeburg.

When arriving to scene, officers observed that Vismer had a female and a small child in the vehicle. After the investigation, it was found out that Vismer had allegedly struck the female in the face for reasons not yet notified and then took the cell phone she was trying to use to call the police in order to stop her from calling. The strike by Vismer caused injury to the female.

Vismer was arrested and taken to the Orangetown Police Headquarters are charged with the following: assault in the third degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree and endangering the welfare of a child; all in which are misdemeanors. Vismer is scheduled to return to court on October 3rd, 2016.

 

Congers Woman Arrested for Larceny

On Sunday, September 25th, the Orangetown Polive Department arrested Karen Martin, a 52-year old from Congers, NY for Larceny.

Employees watched Martin in Shoprite in Pearl River leave the store with about two hundred dollars of products without paying for it. She was taken to the Orangetown Police Headquarters and charged with petit larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property in the 5th degree; both are misdemeanors.

Martin was released on bail and will and is scheduled in court on the 12th of October.

 

DWI Arrest in Orangeburg

Tarik Zubi, a 34-year old man from Old Tappan, NJ was arrested Saturday night for driving while intoxicated. Zubi was caught throwing a beer can out the passenger side window on Greenbush road in Orangeburg.

When officers were speaking to Mr. Zubi, they noticed his bloodshot eyes, his blurred speech and smelt alcohol. He failed numerous sobriety tests, was then arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated and taken the Orangetown Police Headquarters. A subsequent check al so showed that Zubi was operating a vehicle without a court mandated interlock device.

Zubi is charged with driving while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device misdemeanors and a littering violation. He is due back in court October 19th, 2016.

 

Pennsylvania Man Arrested on Orangeburg Road

Screen Shot 2016-09-28 at 1.10.55 PMJeffery Purcell, a 29-year old male from Stroudsburg, PA was arrested Friday night on Orangeburg Road for aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Purcell’s license was suspended or revoked 38 times in New York State for a number of reasons including failure to pay a fines and traffic summonses.

Purcell will be charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the first degree which is a felony. His court date is scheduled for September 26th.
