Rockland volunteer firefighters mourn passing of Fahy

On the death of FDNY Chief Michael Fahy:

The officers and members of the Rockland County Volunteer Firefighters’ Association express their deepest sympathy to the Fahy family on the death of FDNY Battalion Chief Michael Fahy. The FDNY has lost a rising star and Rockland County has lost a true native son. So many of the 10,000 FDNY firefighters started their careers in Rockland County as local volunteers, and many still serve their community in that volunteer capacity. And because of that, the 2,000 volunteer firefighters in Rockland feel a particular kinship with our career brothers and sister of the FDNY.

This is not the first time an FDNY line-of-duty death has touched Rockland, and, sadly, it will not be the last. We mourn the loss of Chief Fahy and, again, extend our heartfelt sympathy to his immediate family. We share your loss.
