5K RUN/WALK FOR RECOVERY THIS WEEKEND AT ROCKLAND LAKE

In recognition of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month (September) the Rockland Council on Alcoholism and Other Drug Dependence, Inc. (RCADD) is holdings its ninth annual 5K Run/Walk event, Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Rockland Lake State Park, beginning at 9 a.m. This year’s theme is “Our Families, Our Stories, and Our Recovery!” RCADD also is using the hashtag #thisonesforreid on social media in remembrance of Reid Schwartz, a 24-year-old Rockland County man who lost his battle with addiction on June 8, 2015.

The event is intended to educate and support people affected by substance abuse disorders, educate the public that addiction is treatable and celebrate the lives of those who have gained and sustained recovery. To register for the walk or make a donation in support of addiction recovery efforts in Rockland County visit: https://raceroster.com/events/2016/8454/5k-run-walk-for-recovery.
