Town Supervisor Howard T. Phillips was on hand and accepted the tree from the boys.

Said Phillips, “For generations to come, these Cub Scouts will be able to tell their family how they once planted this tree. What a wonderful gift for all who visit Bowline Point Park.”

Cub Scout leaders noted the donation and ceremony could not have happened without Phillips, the staff of the town of Haverstraw and Bowline, as well as DJ Helmke Landscaping and Shemins Nursery.

Other recent projects and events Pack 165 has participated in include Keep Rockland Beautiful clean-up, the town’s Memorial Day services,  food collection for local families, Toys for Tots, collecting clothes, books and blankets for Montrose Veterans Hospital, as well as care packages for deployed military and visiting the elderly and infirmed at nursing homes and hospitals.

The pack thrives with the help of their volunteering leaders/committee, Luke Timmerman Cub Master, Barbara Braun, Jennifer Henderson, Andrea and Neil Wasserman, Tonya Love-Corlett, Francine and Tony Verzi and Danielle Santana.
