Assault in the second degree, strangulation in the second degree and criminal contempt in the first degree, all felonies, are the charges faced by 43-year-old Suffern resident Emmanuel Jean Tenemille.

On Saturday May 28, 2016 at about 8:45 a.m., Ramapo PD were contacted by a 24-year-old female (name being withheld) who said that she had been assaulted a short while earlier in the wooded area behind the former Rockland Drive-In Theater on Rt. 59 in Monsey. The victim was transported to The Good Samaritan Hospital’s Emergency Room by Spring Hill Ambulance, where she was treated and released.

As a result of the investigation, Ramapo Police arrested Tenemille on the above charges. The victim said that she knew the suspect and that she could identify him. Ramapo Det. Sgt. Brian Corbett said “there is no known motive” for the attack at this time.

Tenemille was arraigned in the Village of Montebello Justice Court and remanded to the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5,000 Bail.
