New City Rotary Foundation Hosts Second Annual Wine & Food Festival to Help Feed Rockland’s Hungry Families

The New City Rotary will host the 2nd Annual Wine & Food Festival on Saturday, September 12 from 4 – 7 p.m. to help Rockland County Food Banks fight hunger. The event will take place at Rockland Country Day School, 34 Kings Highway in Congers, and feature live music and entertainment.

Food will be contributed by D&Ds Restaurant and Pub, Caribbean Food Delights, Bombay Grill, Hudson Fine Catering, Agnello’s Pizza, Rocco’s Italian Cuisine, Banchetto Feast, Corner Bakery Cafe, Caked Up and Bonefish Grill. There will also be wine from local merchants and a fun silent auction that includes items from Ruth’s Chris Steak House, Starbucks, P.F.Chang’s, Dave & Busters TJ Maxx, Bow Tie Cinemas, New York Knicks and more.

“Last year we raised $7,000 for local food banks. This year our goal is $15,000,” stated Kevin Hardy, president of the New City Rotary and owner of KLS Transportation. More than 150 people attended last year’s event and this year they are anticipating over 250 people in attendance.

The recipients of the funds this year will be People to People, which feeds more than 2,000 families each month, and Meals on Wheels which delivers weekly meals to hundreds of frail, elderly homebound individuals.

Sponsorships are still available by going to www.newcityrotaryfestival.org where individuals can also sign up to attend as a guest for $40 or pay $50 at the door. “We are proud to be able to support the area food banks in this way and hope our contributions from the evening will assist those families most in need,” added Hardy.
