“We are filling a void that has been missing from the area and are honored to be partnering with such an experienced and exciting brand,” Wellington said.

WY Management recently changed its name to WY Group (now represented by Relevance New York), Yanko said, because “we’re not just a developing group. We are also builders, and this hotel is built by us.”

Nearing completion, the hotel at 400 High Avenue with 133 guest rooms and suites will open in October. Its website previously indicated the hotel would have 132 rooms, which this newspaper reported.

Earlier this year (January 2015) Hampshire Hotels Management LLC launched Début Hotel Group led by recently-appointed (April 2014) President and CEO Eric A. Danziger. The five-brand group — August Hotels, Time Hotels, Dream Hotels, Unscripted Hotels and Night Hotels — encompasses five tiers of lifestyles.

“Having just reinvented our Time Hotels brand, we are very pleased to debut the Time Nyack, just a short distance, but a world apart, from our flagship Time New York Hotel,” Danziger said.

Longtime Nyack residents until recently, Wellington and Yanko felt the Westchester and Rockland area needed a hotel like theirs. After looking at the property and where it was located on the highway, they knew it was the perfect location.

“The town supported us so greatly and was very pleasant,” Wellington said.

Yanko has bid on more than 10 residential conversion and hospitality projects totaling more than one million square feet during his career. “Not one was without opposition” except this one, he said. It had “zero opposition. At all the public hearings, no one came to oppose us.”

TIME Nyack will also service nearby “corporate giants, which have earned the area the title of Billion Dollar Mile.”

He referred to Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, home of CNBC (NBC Universal) world headquarters, North American headquarters of South Korean conglomerate LG Corp, and the American headquarters of global CPG conglomerate Unilever in addition to Ferrari and Maserati North America.

“These corporations will need a lot of attention as far as hospitality goes.” Yanko said. “You can stay and say you feel like you’re in New York City (with) the same facility and same service the way we like to be served in the city.”

Amenities include three Jacuzzis and outdoor space on the ground floor, a rooftop bar with views of the Hudson Valley and the Tappan Zee Bridge (and its replacement construction), a dipping pool (depth of four feet), 3,500 sq. ft. of meeting and event space, meeting facilities with a 250-peron capacity, a 24-hour fitness center, two Tesla charging stations and a lobby lounge with fireplace.

“A boutique hotel should be in the vicinity, where people can curate and have living space and a great place to have a meeting or wedding,” Yanko said. “In Rockland there is a need for more design-oriented chic and a great food facility.”

“Having worked in Nyack intimately for years, we are excited to partner with Début Hotel Group and Hampshire Hotels Management to bring the first-ever lifestyle hotel to the Rockland area,” he said.

Within one week the TIME Nyack website will be live and will include information for booking party rooms and reservations. Until then direct all inquiries to 347-201-7689.
