ALBERTUS MAGNUS HIGH SCHOOL TRUSTEES NAME PRESIDENT

Mr. Robert J. Gomprecht, Principal at Fordham Prep in the Bronx, has been appointed president of Albertus Magnus High School by the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, sponsors and trustees of the school. He is succeeding Mr. Joseph T. Troy who is retiring after a successful 20 years.

As president, Mr. Gomprecht will be responsible for the overall operation of the school with particular responsibility for institutional advancement, finance, and strategic planning. He will be the school’s primary spokesperson and faith leader.

Mr. Gomprecht, who begins as president on July 1, was appointed on May 20 by the Board of Trustees following a recommendation by a presidential search committee.

As principal of Fordham Prep, Mr. Gomprecht oversaw a major curriculum review, and recently introduced a highly successful one-to-one computing program. He has supervised admissions and participated in numerous alumni and parent activities. Previously, he served as Assistant Principal, Chairperson of the Science Department, basketball coach, and student government moderator. He has also chaired the Principals’ Council, which oversees athletics for the Catholic High School Athletic Association (CHSAA) in the metropolitan area.

Sister Mary Murray, OP, President of the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill, commented, “Mr. Gomprecht brings years of experience and talent in Catholic high school education. We are excited to welcome him onboard and have great confidence in his ability to continue developing and growing the mission of the school.”

Mr. Gomprecht received a BA and MS in Biology and a Professional Diploma in School Administration from Fordham University. He lives in Westchester County with his wife, Alanna. His three children, their spouses, and six grandchildren are also Westchester residents.
