Clarkstown PD release identity of senior citizen who ran over Bronx woman outside Mia’s massage; no summons issued

REPORT FROM CPD

On Saturday April 25 at approximately 3:10 p.m., the Clarkstown Police Department responded to 191 S. Main St. in New City.

Responding patrol units observed a 2006 Lincoln sedan had struck the front of the building of 191 S. Main St and a pedestrian. The driver, John Nawoschik, 86, from New City backed out of a parking spot at which time he hit the accelerator, striking the building and continuing in reverse striking a 58-year-old female from Riverdale, NY who had been standing on the sidewalk.

The female victim was transported to Nyack Hospital for medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle was evaluated at the scene of the accident by responding officers and paramedics. He did not appear intoxicated and did not require medical attention. No arrest was made and no summon was issued.

The driver’s vehicle was towed from the scene. There was no severe structural damage to the building.

[Editor’s note – Witnesses informed the Rockland County Times that the doors of D&D’s bar were destroyed in the accident].
