Crime Report 4/23/15

STONY POINT POLICE DEPARTMENT:

PETIT LARCENY & CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF STOLEN PROPERTY
Nicole Benjamin, age 19, residing at 109 Railroad Ave. in West Haverstraw, NY, was arrested on April 15, 2015 for petit larceny, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree (two counts) and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. The defendant was arrested on an active bench warrant issued by the Stony Point Justice Court for the charge of petit larceny. Subsequently, the defendant was found to be in possession of two debit cards and a NYS driver’s license stolen from a victim in West Haverstraw. The defendant was arrested, processed and later arraigned in Stony Point Justice Court before the Honorable Judge Frank Phillips. The defendant was remanded to the Rockland County Correctional facility on $2,500 bail and was issued an appearance ticket returnable on April 21, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. before Judge Phillips.

DWAI & UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF MARIHUANA
Lenen Polanco, age 20, residing at 4 Terpak Court Garnerville, NY, was arrested on April 18, 2015 for DWAI and unlawful possession of marihuana. The defendant was arrested following an investigation into a hit and run automobile accident on Willow Grove Road in Stony Point. The defendant was also found to be in possession of a quantity of marihuana. The defendant was arrested, processed, issued several traffic summonses and was released on an appearance ticket to return to Stony Point Justice Court on May 19, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. before Judge Frank Phillips.

ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE:

DWI
Kellianne Kilfoile, age 23, residing in Pomona, NY, was arrested on April 17, 2015 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the subject operating a motor vehicle on Route 59 in an erratic manner.  The subject was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff HQ in New City and released on summonses to return to Nyack Village Justice Court.

DWI
Shann D. Hopkins, age 37, residing in Newark, NJ, was arrested on April 18, 2015 for DWI. A Sheriff Patrol Officer observed the subject operating a motor vehicle at high speeds in an erratic manner, on the Garden State Parkway.  The subject was found to be intoxicated and was arrested. The subject was processed at Sheriff HQ in New City and released on summonses to return to Chestnut Ridge Village Justice Court.

ROCKLAND COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE POLICE DIVISION:

DWI
Vladimir Pierre, age 31, residing in Spring Valley, NY, was arrested on April 9, 2015 on an outstanding Felony Bench Warrant issued on January 21, 2015 by Rockland County, County Court Judge Apotheker. The subject was arrested for DWI/prior conviction at JFK International Airport in Queens, NY, and transported back to Rockland by Rockland County Sheriff’s Office Detectives. The subject is being held at the Rockland County Jail awaiting future court appearances.

CRIMINAL POSSESSION & SALE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Matthew Geoghegan, age 49, residing in Cresco, PA, was arrested on April 9, 2015 on an outstanding felony warrant issued by Rockland County Court. He was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree and criminal sale of a controlled substance in the third degree by Sheriff’s Department detectives and brought back to Rockland and lodged in the county jail pending an appearance in County Court.

WANTED: PETER J. MCARDLE
The Rockland County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to located the above subject, Peter J. McArdle, 56, for an active county court warrant for criminal possession of a weapon/bail jumping. This subject is known to frequent the Penfield New York area. Please take no action to apprehend this person yourself. For inquiries or to report any information, or if located within Rockland, please contract the Rockland County Sheriff’s Office at 845-638-5401. If located outside of Rockland County, please call your local police department. Subject is 6’0, 190 pounds, has brown/gray hair and hazel eyes.

FAILURE TO RESPOND TO FAMILY COURT
Jean Beauchard, age 40, residing in Spring Valley, NY, was arrested on April 13, 2015 on an outstanding Family Court warrant issued on April 6, 2015 by Rockland County Family Court Judge Eisenpress, for failure to respond to family court for arrears in excess of $5,000, which is owed to the private petitioner. The subject was arraigned by the Honorable Judge Stein of the Ramapo Justice Court and was held on $10,000 cash bail.

RAMAPO POLICE DEPARTMENT:

MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT – CAR/BICYCLIST
On April 16, 2015 at approximately 8:26 p.m., Ramapo Police responded to a motor vehicle/bicyclist accident on Route 59, just east of Besen Parkway.  A 34-year-old female from Nanuet, NY, was operating a 2013 Dodge Durango east bound on Route 59.  The vehicle struck a 14-year-old male bicyclist from Airmont, NY.  The male sustained serious injuries and was transported to Westchester Medical Center by Hatzolah Ambulance. The accident is currently being investigated by the Town of Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit. At the time of this release, Route 59 remains closed in both directions, between Remsen Ave and Besen Parkway. The driver of the Dodge has been identified as Wendi Williams the bicyclist as Chesky Sklarz, who was listed in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center following the accident.

DA REPORT:

PROMOTING PRISON CONTRABAND
Phillip Pfeiffer, age 30, residing at 71 Lenox Avenue, Congers, NY, was indicted on April 1, 2015 by a Rockland County Grand Jury for the crimes of promoting prison contraband in the first and second degrees. District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe stated that on or about October 18, 2014, the defendant was an inmate in the Rockland County Jail and was found to be in possession of multiple items of contraband, including a hypodermic needle and marijuana.

SUFFERN POLICE DEPARTMENT:

ROBBERY, RESISTING ARREST, HARASSMENT & OTHERS

Marcindal Jules, age 40, residing at 2 Fletcher Road, Monsey, NY, was arrested on April 19, 2015 at 6:30 a.m., was arrested by Suffern Police Department for robbery, resisting arrest, harassment and other charges following a dispute outside of Good Samaritan Hospital. It appeared that Jules was acting irate and starting fighting with employees of the hospital at which time he assaulted a security guard and stole his tie. Upon arriving at this scene, officers attempted to speak to the subject about the incident and he started to act in a violent manner. When being placed under arrest, the subject fought with officers. During this dispute, one of the patrolmen was kicked in the face. The officer had minor injuries and the man was taken into custody. Jules was sent to he Rockland County Jail on $2,500 bail.
