NEW MEDIA PROJECT ANNOUNCED BY HUDSON VALLEY PLAYERS

Hudson Valley magazine Chronogram announces the launch of ArtScene—a new web TV series about Hudson Valley art—exploring artists, galleries and museums, and history.

Beginning in January 2015, beloved Hudson Valley lifestyle magazine, Chronogram, takes a next step in their mission to stimulate and support the creative life of the Hudson Valley. The launch of ArtScene, a web TV series produced by Independent filmmaker Stephen Blauweiss with Chronogram editor Brian K. Mahoney acting as host, interviews various artists from around the region including the current cover artist of that month’s issue.

“I’ve always been intrigued by the Chronogram cover artist’s stories while making those films,” producer Stephen Blauweiss explains. “After 4 years and over 35 cover artist films, the artistic process never ceases to amaze me.”

The premier episode, which is available to view in segments or as a whole at Chronogram.com/TV, features photographer Carolyn Marks Blackwood, painter Staats Fasoldt, a overview of the art scene in Beacon, NY, sculptor Ze’ev Willy Neumann, ceramicist Robert Hessler, and January Chronogram’s on the cover artist Steven Siegel. Future episodes, produced monthly, will include similar segments—including a special piece on Rosendale, NY based multimedia artist Wayne Montecalvo who was recently featured on PBS.
