NYCF applauds Senate passage of pro-woman package, slams Cuomo abortion-expansion proposal

NYCF PRESS RELEASE

This afternoon, the New York State Senate again passed the non-controversial portions of the Women’s Equality Act. Rev. Jason J. McGuire, executive director of New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms, made the following remarks:

“New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms is pleased to see that the New York State Senate has made it its first priority to pass a package of pro-woman legislation in 2015. We are also pleased that Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s dangerous and unnecessary abortion expansion bill has not received a Senate vote. Now that the Senate has passed this comprehensive women’s equality agenda, New York voters should contact their respective Members of the New York State Assembly, as well as Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver, and ask them to stop playing politics by needlessly tying these bills to the Governor’s abortion expansion measure. There is simply no valid reason that the Assembly majority’s reckless pro-abortion extremism should continue to obstruct the progress of important advances on human trafficking and sexual harassment. The women of New York deserve better.”

New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms is a statewide public policy organization that advocates on behalf of the evangelical Christian community.
