NYACK HOSPITAL NAMES INTERIM CEO

Nyack Hospital has announced that effective immediately, Mark Geller, M.D. will be serving as interim president and CEO of Nyack Hospital while the search for a permanent CEO is ongoing. During this time, Dr. Geller will be taking a leave of absence from his role as CEO of Hudson Valley Radiology Associates.

Dr. Geller shared, “I am honored to assume the position of interim CEO and look forward to working with our dedicated and talented staff on new initiatives that will further the services and quality of care offered at Nyack Hospital. This is our community hospital, one in which my family has been active with for a number of years.  It is my privilege to continue the tradition of excellence practiced at Nyack Hospital and to help bring this institution forward ensuring that residents have access to the very best healthcare right here in Rockland County.”

Dr. Geller has served Nyack Hospital in a number of capacities including his role as president of the Medical Staff, current chair of the Medical Executive and Credentials Committees, and member of the Board of Trustees, Executive and Performance Improvement Committees and the Nyack Hospital Foundation.  He has been named a N.Y. Metro Top Doctor since 2001, Nyack Hospital Physician of the Year in 2004 and a Hudson Valley Top Doctor since 2007.

Chairman of the Nyack Hospital Board of Trustees Richard Kohlhausen stated, “I am very pleased that Dr. Mark Geller will be acting as interim CEO for Nyack Hospital. Dr. Geller is a respected physician and well known member of our community. He will be working with members of Administration to move the hospital forward until such time there is a permanent appointment for the position of CEO at Nyack Hospital.”

Nyack Hospital is currently in the process of being purchased by Montefiore Medical Center. The Nyack Board of Trustees approved a merger between the two entities this summer.
