On December 15, 2014 the Clarkstown Detective Bureau arrested 2 suspects from the assaults that occurred on Black Friday, November 28, 2014 at the Palisades Mall in West Nyack. The suspects are Chris Bujaj, 17, of Tuckahoe, NY and Ardijan Mehaj, 17, of Yonkers, NY. Both were arrested and processed at police headquarters.

They are charged with assault as a hate crime in the third (felony) and assault in the third degree (misdemeanor). The charge for assault as a hate crime stems from disparaging remarks allegedly made to the victim of a certain ethnic group during one of the assaults carried out by the suspects.

They were arraigned in Clarkstown Justice Court. Bail was set at $25,000 for each suspect. They were transported to the Rockland County Jail and will return to court on December 19, 2014 at 9:30 a.m.

The third suspect has not been positively identified. Police ask the public to please help them identify the suspect. He is described as a male white, 5’6”-5’8”, black vest, grey hoodie and dark jeans. Police credited fans of their Facebook page for helping to identify the two arrested
