Clarkstown DWI arrests announced

On Saturday, November 29, 2014, the Town of Clarkstown Police Department conducted a DWI Road Check on Rt. 59 in West Nyack. The detail lasted from 11:30 p.m. until 4:00 a.m.and was supplemented by resources and personnel from the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department.

A total of eight arrests were made for Driving While Intoxicated offenses, including one) felony arrest for a prior conviction and one arrest for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated for having a blood alcohol level above .18. The felony DWI arrest was Lisa Johansen, 24 years old, from Nyack, New York.

One additional arrest was made for Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and one arrest was made for Operating with a Suspended License. The crackdown effort, along with other enforcement details over the Thanksgiving Weekend, was funded through the Rockland County STOP DWI office and the New York State Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.
