Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, is known as a wild day at shopping malls across America, but an incident this morning at Costco in Nanuet took things to a whole other level.

It wasn’t customers competing for first in line that caused the drama but two Costco employees who were at each other’s throats. At 5:52 a.m. one of the men drew a knife on the other and caused multiple lacerations to his facial area and one to his abdominal area. The victim, a 21-year-old male from Garnerville, was taken into surgery at Nyack Hospital, and is expected to survive.

The suspect is a male, described by Clarkstown PD as 19 or 20-years-old. The police are on his trail and expect they will be able to find him sooner rather than later.

The suspect allegedly committed the assault in an employee bathroom, using a box cutter style knife, before any customers were on the premises.

A witness told the Rockland County Times that the injuries were serious. Police said the two had likely been in a dispute dating back to last week. They did not release the name of the suspect.
