Prosecutor offers some more details of case against Sparaco

Below is a letter from prosecutor Rich Moran responding to inquiries and FOIL requests by RCT Editor Dylan Skriloff

Dylan,

As this is an ongoing investigation we generally don’t comment on the specifics of any case.  However, I will do my best to amplify our press release as best I can in an effort to answer the questions you have.

The defendant is charged with 19 counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree and 19 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument in the second degree.  The allegations are that 19 petitions submitted by the defendant contained information which he knew was inaccurate.  This specifically refers to the alleged addresses of people whom were being nominated for committee positions.

The charges encompass the allegation that the addresses of four of the people being nominated for committee positions were not accurate and that the defendant was aware of this when he submitted the petitions to the Rockland County Board of Elections.

Sincerely,

Richard Kennison Moran

Supervising Assistant District Attorney
