SUPPORT FOR THE BUDGET

To the Editor,

The day of reckoning has come. We finally have a county executive [Ed Day] who is a strong leader, who has put together a fiscally responsible budget for Rockland County. The county must operate within its means, no longer can the county tax and spend, which put us over $100 million in debt and gave us double digit tax increases of 15-18 percent. The 2 percent cap must be maintained; Rockland seniors are often unable to sell their homes and young people are unable to buy homes. due to the high tax burden. I urge everyone to contact their county legislator and urge them to support the county executive’s budget.
