Clarkstown PD warns of child luring incidents

FROM CPD

The Clarkstown Police Department recently responded to two separate reports of a possible luring of a child  in the Nanuet area on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The first incident occurred on Carrie Lane and the second incident occurred on North Edsall Ave. In both incidents the children, both 8-year-old males, reported seeing a man driving a vehicle, described as a white SUV possibly with a roof rack.

The man slowed down and waved at the boys and then drove away. The driver of the SUV is described as a white male Hispanic. Both children reacted properly by immediately going back into their homes and telling their parents. There was no verbal conversation between the children and the man driving the vehicle.

The Clarkstown Police Department is asking that any resident seeing a vehicle matching that description or any other suspicious activity, to immediately call 845-639-5800. An extensive check of the area was conducted and nothing was found out of the ordinary.

The Nanuet School District is aware of the incidents. This is an isolated incident and there have been no other reports to the Clarkstown Police Department.
