CARDINAL TIMOTHY DOLAN TO VISIT GOOD SAMARITAN REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER-

Public invited to event that will take place on September 22

In an announcement made by hospital officials and the Archdiocese of New York, Bon Secours Charity Health System will welcome his Eminence, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center campus in Suffern on Monday, September 22.

The Cardinal will spend the morning touring the hospital and visiting with patients, before taking part in an outdoor ceremony for all—including hospital officials and employees, the public, sponsors, media and area religious organizations. The Cardinal will speak, reflect, take part in an awards ceremony and offer blessings for the system’s healthcare ministry.

“This is an event we have spent considerable time planning, and we are very excited,” said Mary P. Leahy, MD and CEO of Bon Secours Charity Health System. “We believe the Cardinal’s visit will be inspirational for our healthcare system and our community. We greatly anticipate his visit.”

For those who wish to attend, the ceremony will be held under a large tent next to the Suffern Medical Pavilion, 257 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern, NY 10901. The ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. There will be chairs and refreshments provided.

Parking will be at the Tagaste Monastery across the street from Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. There will be free shuttle service to and from the ceremony.

“As the only remaining Catholic healthcare system in the region, this visit has special meaning,” said Leahy.
