Lafayette Theater Celebrates 90th Anniversary Admission 25¢ on September 21

The Historic Lafayette Theater in Suffern will hold its third 90th anniversary celebration on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2 p.m., featuring an exclusive screening of “E.T. – The Extra Terrestrial.” E.T. a 1982 science fiction film, was produced and directed by Steven Spielberg. A bona fide classic, E.T. is a movie that has something to offer moviegoers of all ages.

The Lafayette Theater opened its doors on March 3, 1924, it is one of the oldest movie palaces in the country still screening first run and classic movies. It has been named by USA Today as one of the Top Ten Classic Movie Theaters in America.

All tickets for the September 21 celebration will be 25¢ at the door, with no pre-sale tickets available – doors will open at 1 p.m.

The Lafayette Theater is located at 97 Lafayette Avenue, Suffern. Nearby parking is available in the Theater lot and Suffern Municipal lot.
