HAVERSTRAW RIVERARTS FESTIVAL CELEBRATES THE VILLAGE ON THE HUDSON

A full day of free music and art set against the backdrop of the breathtaking Hudson – that’s what the first Haverstraw RiverArts Festival promises. On Saturday, September 20 from 12 – 7 p.m., Emeline Park (16 Front Street, Haverstraw) plays host to four bands – jazz, rockabilly, indie rock and Latin fusion.

A “sculpture invitational” in which professional artists and teams of students from Rockland high schools will create sculptures using objects sourced from the river front, with one of the artists having the opportunity for their work to be exhibited at the Garnerville Arts Center’s “Artoberfest.” Other highlights of this community and river-centric event are activities for kids, a performance by kid favorite, Fran Roesemann, local artisans selling their wares and all kinds of great things to eat courtesy of Rockland Roots, A & J Lunch Truck, El Pastor and others.

Partners for the RiverArts Festival are The Town & Village of Haverstraw, The Haverstraw RiverArts Committee, Garnerville Arts Center, Keep Rockland Beautiful, and the Rockland Community Foundation. Event Sponsors are GDC Development Corporation, TD Bank, Rohr Construction, AutoPro, Safe Harbor, Bricktown B&B, Abbey Ice and Water and Orange & Rockland.
