BOIL WATER ORDER LIFTED FOR ORANGETOWN COMMUNITIES

United Water received official notification from the Rockland County Health Department that enables the boil water order to be lifted for customers at the following addresses:

Orangeburg

·         Sickletown Rd. – # 61, 65, 66, 69, 75, 81, 83, 85, 89, 91

·         Briarwood La. – # 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8

Blauvelt

·         Sickletown Rd. – # 68 A

·         Blauvelt Rd. – # 500, 551

The boil water order was issued as a precautionary measure following a 16-inch main break on Sickletown Road on August 24.

Customers were ordered to boil water as a precautionary measure while United Water emergency crews restored water service and water quality tests were performed. Lab results indicate that the water meets all safe drinking water standards.

“We recognize that a boil water order is an inconvenience to our customers and we thank them for their patience during this time,” said Michael Pointing, vice president and general manager of United Water.
