11TH ANNUAL TOWN OF RAMAPO K-9 POOL PARTY

Imagine wearing a fur coat during the dog days of summer. Talk about a hot dog! Here’s a way to cool off your canine. Take him or her to the 11th Annual K-9 Pool Party on Sunday, September 7 at the Spook Rock Pool – on Spook Rock Road in Suffern, New York from 12 noon until 3:30 p.m. Over the past several years, Ramapo’s Pool Party has attracted worldwide press coverage.

“Since Ramapo first sponsored this event eleven years ago, dog swims are taking place throughout the United States. We welcome the opportunity to be the first community in Rockland County to host a great family activity,” stated Supervisor Christopher P. St. Lawrence.

All participating dogs must be accompanied by an owner who is at least 18 years of age. Written proof of current vaccinations is required, and all dogs must be on a leash at all times when not in the pool. Town residents are being asked to donate $5 per dog and nonresidents, $10. Local veterinarian Dr. Lawrence Ness from the Airmont Animal Hospital, pet groomers and volunteers from the Hi-Tor Animal Care Center and the Doggone Safe Program will be participating in the festivities. Bring your pooch for some fun on September 7.
