The former President of Dominican Republic, Lionel Fernandez, visited Saddle River Day School located in Saddle River, New Jersey, to view the school’s dynamic STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) curriculum firsthand on May 20, 2014. He was impressed with a presentation by Head of School Eileen Lambert at conference he organized in Santo Domingo on STEM education last January that demonstrated an exceptional level of expertise, commitment, and implementation of its STEM program. During his visit, he met with several Dominican students to talk about their challenging STEM classes. The Dominican Republic is the first country in the Caribbean to undertake a major education overhaul.
