Tappan Zee Bridge expected to see lane closures throughout week

Lane closures are expected on the Tappan Zee Bridge throughout this week as construction crews continue to lay down permanent, foundation tiles and work on the foundation of the main span.

As construction crews move outward from the Rockland and Westchester sides of the bridge, the southbound right lane of I-87/I-287 will be closed on Monday and Tuesday between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The northbound right lane will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday at the same time.

Northbound lane closures are also expected on Friday but will only occur from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Mariners are also advised to proceed with caution as construction continues near the side channels of the current span. Temporary and permanent piles are illuminated at night.
