PEARL RIVER, NY June 2, 2014 6 p.m. — Orange and Rockland Utilities, Inc. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 503 have agreed to a second extension of the collective bargaining agreement that was scheduled to expire Saturday evening, May 31 at midnight.
The contract had been extended until tonight at midnight. This afternoon, negotiators agreed to extend the contract until Tuesday evening, June 3 at midnight.
After two months of negotiations, a number of key issues remain to be resolved. The parties will continue negotiations with the goal of reaching a mutually acceptable agreement. The current contract has been in effect since June 1, 2009.
